Kinja'd!!!

Sorry for the grainy iPhone pic. Shot in the parking garage at work this morning. Big step up from my !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! (unless you like the beat up look).

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

I knew the shop that originally installed the M5 replica kit were a bunch of hacks, but I didn't know how bad until the body shop that did the repair work got into it.

The original shop fab'd up some foglight surrounds since they didn't order the right kit. It looked okay, but not great, and I had to settle with it since they had been jerking me around for 3 weeks and had my money. What I didn't see was the back side, where they attached the fog lights with glue and duct tape (DUCT TAPE ON MY BMW?!). Everything was attached with a hodgepodge of fasteners (why not use the stock ones that were there?), so I had to buy a bunch of new ones from BMW.

If you live in San Diego, I'd be happy to tell you where this place is so that you know to never go there.

Wait, so what engine does your fake M5 have?

Also, I don't really appreciate the "fake" comment. Made it a point not to put an M5 badge on it, since it's not, but I can see how the body kit could be seen as misleading. I like the look of the M5. Don't like the low-end torque, mileage, or SMG. Happy with my car. Didn't go all the way and swap over the side mirrors, lip spoiler, and fender vents. But you're free to have your opinion.

Not fake at all. Unless you start putting M badges and side vents on.

Yours is very tastefully modified. B)

I like how you didn't go for the M5 side grilles.

Also, N54!

Also, M5s don't have fog lights. Normally there are brake ducts there.

It's just not something I'd do, that's all. Did you consider the M-Sport bumpers (and side skirts)? The front one's pretty similar.

(M badge on the back in this pic not necessary, of course)

I'm not a fan of how the bottom corners look like they're a separate piece stuck on the bumper, when they're not.

And that's fine that it's not something you'd do. There's plenty of things that other people do to their cars that I'd never do, but I don't knock them for it. To each his/her own. Just try and tone down the inflammatory language so we can have a nice conversation about cars, okay?

I get all that. I'll make sure to be overly polite next time.
